Fort Myers, FL - The Southwest Florida Small Business Resource Network (SBRN) will host a networking and information session on Cloud Computing 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 at the New Holiday Inn, Fort Myers Airport at Town Center, 9931 Interstate Commerce Drive in Fort Myers. SBRN, a statewide organization, is sponsored by Florida Gulf Coast University’s Small Business Development Center.

Cloud computing is the new buzz word in the information technology world and refers to the process of delivering applications over the internet through various technologies. There are a number of legal, economic, and technological issues to consider when using cloud services. Advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing and what business owners should know to protect their company data will be discussed.

Darius Joseph, of Microware, Inc., will be the presenter for the session. Joseph is an IT consultant who focuses on technology solutions for small to medium size businesses.

The evening begins with the Resource Network’s monthly “Network After Five” social event where members and guests network and exchange ideas for growing their business.

Cost for SBRN members is $15 per person, which includes hors d’oeuvres. Guests and unaffiliated small business owners pay $20 per person.

October 20, 2011 Meeting: “Best Government Resources for Small Business Owners”

FORT MYERS, FL – The Southwest Florida Small Business Resource Network (SBRN) hosts a networking and roundtable panel discussion on government resources for small businesses, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Holiday Inn, Fort Myers Airport @ Town Center, 9931 Interstate Commerce Drive, Fort Myers.

Panel members will include government officials from several agencies. Each official will briefly explain the best resources their agency has to offer along with information on potential growth .Guests will have an opportunity to ask questions of panel members. 

Warren Baucom, longtime SBRN board member and Business Assistance Specialist with the Lee County Economic Development Office, will facilitate the session.

Student Entrepreneurship Program awarded donation from Golf Tournament proceeds

A very special thank you to everyone who supported our SBRN Golf Tournament. Our  first year was a sound success thanks to our sponsors, donors, and dedicated members who actively participated.Monies from the golf tournament will support the growth and development of the FGCU SBRN Chapter in their efforts to help small business owners. As well, $250 will be awarded to the Student Entrepreneurship Program at FGCU, during our next meeting on October 20, 2011.

The Best of - Series: Blogging As Marketing Tool SWFL SBRN January 2011

The Southwest Florida Small Business Resource Network addressed blogging in relation to social media marketing at "The Best" series event January, 20 5:30 - 7pm at Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport at Town Center.

Small Business Resource Network (SBRN) Round Table Event October 21, 2010 Holiday Inn, Ft. Myers

The event was hosted by members of Southwest Florida Small Business Resource Network and through direct support from the Southwest Florida Small Business Development Center.
